BRILLIANT BROWN BOYS BOOK CLUB
There is no doubt about it, Literacy is the foundation for all other learning endeavors. According to the United States Department of Education, more than 85% of America’s black male K-12 students are not proficient in reading.

Brilliant Brown Boys Book Club is a nonprofit organization that was created to spark a passion for leisurely reading in young boys while also providing them access to culturally relevant books with positive black characters.
For Boys7-11
How does it work?
Ten members are selected to participate per cycle. Once selected, members receive free books and activities mailed to their home. Boys then come together to discuss their ideas and opinions around the featured books. Prior to COVID-19 we met twice a month on Saturday mornings in the Woodlawn area. Sessions are now held virtually and are led by Brilliant Brown Men.
